This has been a family favorite since I was a little girl. There is something about the quality and freshness that you just can't get at major chains. I really wish we had these in FL

When i'm in West Columbia I always pass this place but never stopped for years why I don't know know but one night after coming from a late dinner we stopped here and had a sweet tooth snack.Chocolate cake with Ice cream and whipped cream on top and a fried apple pie with whipped cream and to save my life I can't remember the names of these great snacks! Wait a minute! Hot fudge cake sundae and a apple pie sundae(thanks Google). The food menu is really simple but the burgers and sides and chicken look so great. Next time i"m in the area I will order the full menu.

A very pleasant experience! We did the drive thru, and ordered two hamburgers. The employees were very nice and professional, and the food preparation was expeditious. The speed with which our order was prepared did not effect the quality of the food! Probably the best hamburger that I have had in a while. Tasted fresh and the simplicity of the toppings were a nice addition and really allowed the burger to shine in its own right. Will be coming back! Food: 10/10, Freshness: 9/10, Service: 8/10

Good, local, fast food joint. Fast, friendly service and reasonable prices. I grew up with Rush's and, thankfully, the food has remained consistent. Side story: I ordered a "bag" of rolls for $1.69 thinking it would be 3 or 4 rolls. Turns out, it was TWELVE rolls! 12 rolls for $1.69??? What??? Needless to say, we were eating rolls for days. Actually, there are still a few rolls in the fridge as i write this...

This is a kind of interesting old hamburger stand. I stopped in after doing a job near by. I picked up a cheeseburger and drink. The burger was OK. This is a place you should maybe try once. It is kind of cool.

When my folks bought their house the foundation for this location of Rush's was being built. I grew up riding a skateboard/bike here to get a kiddie burger, a hotdog, or milkshake. When I grew up and went to College I'd stop by on the way to mom and dad's house. I never cared about McDonalds/Burger King/KFC because I had Rush's. There is no Chili Burger like it. Love the Slaw Dog/Chili Dog. Their fried chicken is good fresh or cold on the boat. The BBQ is ligit. Strawberry Milkshake! Oh and now they have double kiddie burgers. Fries are great too, and they have white vinegar to put on your fries (even to go). B E S T S W E E T T E A in Columbia. I'll always "Rush in to Rush's."

Restaurant a little dirty. Fries edible, but not super fresh. Fast service. Broken drink machine.

Yuck! I was looking for a restaurant close to my hotel and looked on yelp for assistance. Based on the reviews I thought I would give this local "gem" a shot. I ordered a cheeseburger basket. The burger was more like a steamed burger with the taste of almost bad meat, the fry's were undercooked and the coleslaw had a weird taste to it that I couldn't figure out what it was and I think they put pickles in it (not sure if that is a southern thing, but I have never heard of pickles in coleslaw before....). I ate about 1/2 of my dinner and threw out the rest. Sorry Columbia, but this place was not a gem in my book!

I was at the Broad River Road location this evening at 8pm when two male employees were behind the counter. One male employee began hitting the other employee in the face repeatedly . I called the police to report the assault and notified the manager I had done so. She told me she was handling the situation and that I should not have done that. She would not give me her name and said she would not be talking to the police. The police did come, she did speak to them after she saw them talking with me. She came over and interrupted to let them know she had "handed" it. I hope this establishment realizes the severity of this situation and apathy/disrespect the manager showed a customer trying to do the right thing by reporting an assault.

Forget about a regular burger chain eat here. This place was a pleasant surprise. Driving thru the area and Yelping for some new fast food joints to try I came across Rush's. Very good cheeseburgers and fries. I had the double cheeseburger with extra cheese and no mayo with a large fry. Nice size burger that tasted a little like a double whopper. The main difference was the burger was cooked on a flattop grill and it didn't come with ketchup. Overall, pretty tasty for a fast-food burger. As stated in other reviews, the service was fast and friendly. the only negative thing I can say is, they don't have a Rush's anywhere remotely close to me in South Florida:( Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

Rush's has been in town longer than many of us. It's a family-owned, small, nine store regional chain with locations in Columbia, Lexington and Camden. You might remember Saturday excursions to Bum's Bummers that started with a milkshake and cheese burger basket at Rush's. Rush's started out in the 1940's as a dairy farm. The family later added a drive-in which ended up burning down and was reopened as a Dairy Queen. Their menu is true to their fast food roots with burgers (and dogs), BBQ, fried chicken and to-die-for milkshakes. The hot dog menu is limited at Rush's but offers two tried and true Old Faithfuls: slaw and hot dogs. At Rush's, hot dogs come with mustard, chili and onions. The slaw dog boasts mustard, onion and chili. They do not press their hot dogs flat like they are known to do to their burgers. How the Dog Fight went down. Jeff: Dog 1: Hot dog Dog 2: Slaw dog Dean: Dog 1: Hot dog Dog 2: Slaw dog Julie: Dog 1: Hot dog basket, no onion, add ketchup Andrew: Dog 1: Slaw dog The Dogs Pretty run of the mill. Actually, that would be a compliment. Jeff said he had buyer's remorse from the first bite. It's not that they were bad, they were just soft of there. Jeff added that it was a big bummer to be at the home of such good burgers and chicken and he was stuck on a date with a dog. The Toppings Fine. Actually, no. Jeff said the slaw was good. Julie said she didn't like the slaw, then ended up liking it. Not unusual. Andrew felt it was all just "okay." Far from the best we've had. The Verdict Move over bacon, there's a new face in last place. According to Jeff, Dog Fight Director of Math and Spreadsheet Maintenance, Rush's took a non-so-fabulous freefall to last place with a score of 17.75. The bottom line? There's a reason this is the shortest Dog Fight review ever. Save your splurge for a cheeseburger basket. It's ok, for fast food. I had a hot dog basket, which came with fries & slaw. The service was fast (hence the name, Rush's). And the cashiers were getting orders placed quickly & were actually pleasant. Everyone working greeted people & lots of smiles. I guess it's a fun place to work. I'm a sucker for locally owned & operated businesses so Rush's gets extra credit for that.

I came in here on a quick stay in Columbia because it was the only place near the hotel with any hint of BBQ. I got their BBQ sandwich and a small sweet tea. The sandwich was not bad for a fast food place. I've definitely had better and I'm not used to mustard based BBQ, since I generally get BBQ in Atlanta or make my own. Overall, the place was clean and the people were nice. I would definitely come in here again, unless a real pit BBQ place opens near the hotel where I was staying.

Ok, I'm biased, I grew up on Rush's while living in Columbia. Mustard-based BBQ sandwich, fries in a cup and a chocolate shake from Rush's is fast-food heaven on Earth. Want more - upgrade to a basket which will give you some slaw. They have burgers and stuff too, but who wants that when you can have BBQ? This place has been around forever and has great hours 10am - midnight.

The fifth place on our cheeseburger crawl was Rush's, a local fast food restaurant chain with six locations throughout Columbia (as well as two other locations in Lexington and Camden). It was a rainy day, but any day is good for cheeseburgers and fries in my book, so we drove over to the Rush's on Broad River Road by the I-26 to see if Rush's really offered "Fabulous Food . . . Fast!" The menu at Rush's is clean and simple, with three main types of food of the menu: it offers hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and chili burgers, chili and slaw dogs, and fried chicken. A regular cheeseburger comes all the way with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion. A couple of general comments about the cheeseburger at Rush's: I thought the cheeseburger was pretty similar to Palmetto Sandwich Shop except without the pimento cheese, meaning it was a simple, solid cheeseburger that didn't stand out very much...the burger was definitely made fast though - less than a minute after ordering, the food was ready. Flarké liked that the fries came in a cup. Hambone added "It is better than fast food", and Andy said "This cheeseburger is a step above McDonald's - at least it didn't make my stomach hurt." Andy's comment initially sounded kind of harsh, until I found out that whenever he eats a burger from McDonald's, he gets a stomachache - so, in context, it was a compliment...I think? -Here are our ratings on the cheeseburger and fries: Average Rating: 2.87 For more details about the cheeseburger crawl, as well as photos of both the restaurant and some of the dishes offered here, you can visit my food blog, epicurious-eats.blogspot…

I LOVE ALL THE FOOD! The chicken is better than what your grandma makes. Not my grandma but yours! LOL! JK! Seriously great chicken! I like the rolls and fries that they serve with combo meals. The burgers are old school delish! The ice cream and milk shakes are amazing! You will not regret a visit here. I have never heard a bad word about Rush's! I even brought my family every time they would come in town!

Great food at decent prices. Milkshakes are better than any other fastfood restaraunt I've ever had.

Probably the best fast food chain in the land. Started way back in the 50's right here in Cola., SC. And when they say Rush's, they mean in. Super fast. faster than fast...particularly if you've ever waiting on sorry, uninspired service at Burger King or McDonalds. Sundae's are awesome too.

Good food, never a bad experience with Rushs. BBQ was good. Fries good and a generous portion. My favorite is always their ice cream. Delicious, but a bit pricey.

This place looks like a typical fast food joint but it's not! We ate dinner here on our way back up north via 26. Easy on and off the expressway. Perfect quick meal of cheeseburgers (I had the chili cheeseburger which was fantastic), barbecue (a mustard type barbecue) and hotdogs. The soft serve and shakes looked good but we still had a lot of driving to do and couldn't risk getting too full and sleepy.
